The journey I have experienced as a result of joining the coaching certificate programme has been truly transformative. The entire process has been a learning experience which I believe I’ll be able call upon and apply through my future working career. I started the course with an open mind but wasn’t entirely sure how coaching could help me improve collaboration and performance in my organisation. The course encouraged me to challenge many of the limiting beliefs I once held and gave me new perspectives with regards to the ways in which I now choose to engage with people. I intuitively knew there had to be a more productive and inclusive way of working with people in an organisation but I wasn’t clear on how. As the course evolved I began to trust the techniques and frameworks I had come to learn and could see the benefits of using them. I experienced some “growth pains” along the way, especially in relation to questioning my thoughts and feelings, but with the facilitators support I kept faith in the process and I’m extremely grateful that I did.

“As a team, we can work more consistently using the same approach with our differences respected. I feel as a team this will helps us to be more consistent in our approach and in what we offer. I found the programme very interesting and informative. I enjoyed the mix of theory with discussion and application along side the practical elements of putting it into practice which helped me understand more and my confidence.”

“The MTQ48 questionnaire was extremely useful! An extremely well facilitated programme with support, challenge and balance. Significant impact if I successfully apply learning for myself and for others in the design of training. A very enjoyable, informative 2 days – thank you!”

We have a number of research projects with Institute member clients underway – all seeking to explore how OD activity contributes to sustainable changes in organisational health and wellbeing within the organisational system, which in turn leads to improved results in delivery and service quality.

Rosie Johnson, Director of Workforce, Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber NHS FT

The workshop has contributed to a culture change within the organisation, with a move away from self-reliance and silo-working to a position based much more on the collective, on a culture of mutual respect and support.

Working with the Institute has been a genuine strategic partnership. They have never wavered from its original commitment to provide strong support and strong challenge.

Dr Richard Heseltine, Director of LLI, University of Hull

We had the Strategic OD workshop session with the senior team and the questions in the OD Diagnostic were really thought provoking…the facilitation by Institute for OD got us into a debate which we would not otherwise have had. It gave us the opportunity to really explore things as a team, to challenge each other and question how to take our Organisational Development programme forward.

Chris Bain, former CEO, Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber NHS FT

We quickly realised that we needed an enormous amount of support to help us on our journey of change so we elected The Institute for Organisational Development. The reason for choosing them was their ethics and values which were so aligned to the way in which we think. It was also about finding a long-term partner, as this would not be a quick fix. We wanted a partner that would work with us on a sustainable agenda and help us to deliver a better performance in our hospital whilst also maintaining what makes it really special.

Lynn Cunningham, Director of Corporate Services, Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability

Although all the participants had attended a wide variety of management and leadership courses and qualifications previously, I have no doubt that the programme facilitated by The Institute for Organisational Development had the greatest impact at both an emotional and operational level. This programme got to the heart of who these leaders are, how they perceive themselves and how others perceive them. As a critical group of senior leaders in the constabulary I now have a team who understand each other, will support each other and will work in a cohesive manner to achieve the significant transformation which lies ahead of us.

Deputy Chief Constable

A truly brilliant programme! How to put the skills into practice is something I have found massively useful to help boost my understanding and my confidence. It also gave me a chance to think about areas about myself and others and changes in line with the 7 stages to which we were introduced to. This is absolutely something I will be sharing and practising back in to my organisation. Thank you again to the Institute and to a fantastic facilitator facilitating an excellent session once again!
