Membership Services Manager - Membership Services

Claire joined the Institute for Organisational Development in February 2018 in the role of Membership Services Manager.  Prior to this, Claire has 18 years’ experience working within a variety of industry sectors for large corporate companies and small businesses, running the day to day operations.

As Membership Services Manager, Claire leads on operational elements for client and member delivery within the Institute for Organisational Development and the membership services provision; ensuring that membership clients are ‘delighted’ in their interactions with the business as per the strategic objectives.

Claire has completed her honours degree in Business Management and enjoys riding her horse called Bella.

Chief Executive

Steve founded The Beech Consultancy in 2000 and has lead The Beech Consultancy and The Beech Centre team over the last 18 years to achieve Institute status.

With a background in senior level general management and having worked in a number of sectors including Education, Health and not-for-profit organisations, Steve drives the success of The Institute for Organisational Development and works directly across our membership community.

Steve draws upon postgraduate qualifications in management, education and consultancy and has many years practical experience, including leading roles in the Chartered Management Institute and the Association for Coaching.

Steve spends his time raising the awareness of The Institute for Organisational Development’s work and vision, as well as maintaining member relationships by providing delivery as an OD consultant, facilitator, executive coach and supervisor of practice and projects. Steve is passionate about developing and embedding the Institute for OD as the most inspiring Institute for the art , science and practice of Organisational Development.

Donna Smithson

Director - Membership Services

Joining The Beech Centre team in April 2013 as Membership Services Manager, Donna had 13 years previous experience in public sector working for North Lincolnshire Council, Adult Social Services both within care management and workforce, development and training.

Donna has a wealth of experience within leadership and management, recruitment and selection, budget monitoring, customer service, IT & social media, training and development. Donna has completed both the Certificate in Performance Development Coaching and Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials with The Institute for Organisational Development.

Donna now leads the Membership Services Team for The Institute for Organisational Development and is passionate about providing a world-class membership proposition for both current members of The Institute for Organisational Development and the wider OD community.

Jenny Venter

Business Manager - Governance & Partnerships

Jenny started with us back in 2011 as Finance Assistant and then became Finance Manager. Within our restructuring to prepare us on our journey to become the Institute for Organisational Development Jenny became our Business Manager.

Jenny is responsible for managing the financial operations at The Institute for Organisational Development and is a member of our Institute Leadership Team.

Away from work Jenny volunteers and runs a local Grassroots football academy supporting all the logistics needed for their 8 teams and a soccer school.

Institute Projects Manager - OD Practice

Martha joined The Beech Centre team in 2014 in the role of Membership Services Assistant. Martha then moved into the Membership Services Administrator role in 2015 before transitioning into the Membership Services Manager role in 2016.

Martha then transitioned from the Membership Services team into the OD Practice team and into her current role of Institute Projects Manager. In her role, Martha is responsible for leading on specific Institute related project work, especially in relation to the Institute for Organisational Development’s OD practice, such as developing the Institute’s Research Programme and OD Diagnostic Workshop and Report.  Martha was also responsible for ensuring The Beech Centre’s smooth transition to the Institute for Organisational Development in 2018.

Programme Manager - Membership Services

Luke joined the Institute for Organisational Development in November 2015 in the role of Membership Services Assistant. Prior to this, Luke came from a small family run business background which he managed for a number of years.

Luke then undertook the role of Membership Services Administrator in 2016, before transitioning into the Membership Programme Manager role in 2017. As Programme Manager, Luke is responsible for managing all aspects of the Institute for Organisational Development’s programmes offering . This involves organising and building all of our Institute development programmes from dates and room bookings to facilitators and resources. Luke also works closely with our members and key sponsors to action all of our member in-house programmes. As is anyone here at the Institute, Luke is another valued member of the team.

Luke has graduated in 2016 with his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management at the University of Hull from which he spent five years studying. Luke has a keen ambition to travel the world. He is also a lover of Harry Potter and a chocoholic. Luke also has a dog, Weimaraner breed, called Mabel.

At The Institute for Organisational Development we work with a number of specialist associates who provide members with support through programme development, consultancy interventions and research activity as they progress on their OD journey.
